One of the most fulfilling and most challenging journeys you may ever go on is seeing what your body is able to do. Perhaps you are in shape, completely out of shape, or merely hoping to lose some weight. However, developing a body that you really can be proud, one that is healthy, and lets you really adore each last inch of it actually is an amazing journey to undertake.

So what's the secret to making a lasting change with your body?

Consistency and commitment.

There's nothing else like coming to the table every single day and giving it your best shot. Your best effort must be yours and yours alone. Don't start comparing your journey to other journeys or else you'll become lackadaisical and discouraged. Instead, really try and understand you are competing with yourself and yourself alone. Will there be times on your journey where you try and fail? Yes, many times. But each time you do, you must come back with a firm dedication to achieving something you strongly desire. Consistency will keep you in the game and on the field each day. Without it, you will suffer the the unavoidable reality of many new years resolutioners who give up every single year on developing the body of their dreams because they are missing the personal power to keep on coming back again and againand again.

Commitment also comes to mind, although not the commitment that you are probably thinking of. In our world, we are fed this idea that everything must happen at the moment and if it does not occur now, it's not worthwhile. Your body is going to change acrossthe years, so why don't you make a lifetime promise to remaining healthy? Is that an attractive sellable idea? Not so much. But is it something that could actually change the course of your life? Absolutely.

When you make a promise to keeping your body healthy all throughout your entire life, you will at last reach whatever goal you wish. It is about seeing the bigger picture than just the few months in front of you until summer. It's honestly about developing something that you truly can be pleased with forever. For me, that new concept changed my life as I was able to finally hit my health targets after 12 years of wrestling with my self-image and food issues. But as soon as I modified my perspective of what I was trying to attain, everything I had wished for came to me. So try it on for size and see if it works for you. Make a total dedication to staying healthy and watch how much your body will change in the short term too.

Bring some commitment and consistency to the table, in all sides of your life, and things will change drastically.
